Art With a Sense of Humor
Local art collective Ink Tank creates a whimsical world during More Awkward Than Heavy
Editor's note: CultureMap is proud to present the latest installment in our partnership with KLRU's documentary series Arts in Context. This unique series celebrates stories about the arts in Austin and the people who make this such a vibrant and creative city.
Ink Tank Lab is an art collective that is serious about having fun. Composed of "roughly" 13 artists, the collective creates art with a sense of humor and whimsy. At their events, expect to see audience member participation, interactive exhibits and festive sense of community.
The artists of Ink Tank Lab come from a variety of disciplines and work together to find the humor in what can often be a very serious endeavor. This episode of Arts In Context Shorts looks back to last year’s “More Awkward Than Heavy 2” exhibit held at the Up Collective.
