President Obama's rendition of "Let's Stay Together" spawns remix with NewtGingrich
Newt Gingrich might have proved he's the "comeback kid" by winning the South Carolina primary convincingly Saturday night, but a couple of nights earlier President Barack Obama showed hidden talents that any of the remaining Republican presidential candidates would be hard pressed to surpass.
Obama initially gave a shout out to famed soul singer Al Green, who had performed earlier at the fundraiser at Harlem's Apollo Theater. The president then soulfully sang a line from Green's classic, "Let's Stay Together." It was only about seven words — "I..I'm so in love with you" — but the crowd went wild.
The clip has become an Internet sensation, with 2.7 million views on one You Tube video alone, and has spawned dozens of remixes, including this duet with Gingrich as a rapper.
Instead of presidential debates in the fall, how about a sing-off?
