Famous North Austin mall is adding 2 new luxury retailers to its high-end offerings
The Domain was already a luxurious place to shop, and it's about to get a lot more upscale. Amid the North Austin shopping mall's multimillion-dollar renovations, it is unveiling two luxury brands making these locations their only current brick-and-mortar stores in the city: Versace and Burberry.
In case they need an introduction, Versace and Burberry are two of the world's leading designer brands, with long histories and hefty price tags.
Versace, the Italian brand known for its Medusa symbol and ornate filigree patterns, is now owned by Michael Kors and is still one of the most name-dropped brands in popular culture. Burberry, a British brand, is known for classic and unfussy outerwear done meticulously. The tan tartan-check pattern is not just an iconic signifier — it's legally protected.
Although official opening dates are not yet known, Versace and Burberry join a host of other previously revealed luxury stores that will be open by the completion of the renovations in 2025, such as The Webster, Veronica Beard, and Zimmerman.
According to the release, both of the newly-announced luxury brands will be located across from the "soon-to-be-transformed" Century Oaks Plaza.
The main goal behind the multi-year renovations is to ensure The Domain's exterior holds up to the caliber of luxury shops it's attracting, and any that might show interest in the future. This may not mean much for the casual observer, but people who for live, work, or shop at The Domain, this is paving the way for high-end retailers to set up their own storefronts.
"Our redevelopment presents the perfect opportunity to dazzle shoppers with fresh retailers, and we are thrilled to offer Versace and Burberry’s luxurious wares at The Domain," said The Domain's director of marketing Monica Esparza in a release. "As The Domain’s renovation develops, visitors will continue to see many brands opening their doors, including several that are first to market."
The first phase of The Domain's renovations is expected to be complete by the end of October 2023.
