2 highly anticipated new concerts set to rock Austin this year
Music fans, mark your calendars. Live Nation has announced two highly anticipated new concerts coming to Austin. Broadway star and Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Beck and Cage the Elephant are set to rock the Captial City this spring.
Ben Platt is an actor and singer who will be releasing his debut album, Sing to Me Instead, on March 29. Platt first gained notice when he took on the role of Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, which led to him originating the titular role in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, for which he won a Tony Award.
The concert, taking place at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on May 18, will also feature opening acts Wrabel and Ben Abraham. Tickets go on sale on February 22. Platt will also be in Dallas as part of the tour.
Alternative artists Beck and Cage the Elephant will co-headline a concert at Austin 360 Amphitheater on July 26 as part of their The Night Running Tour. Cage the Elephant will release their fifth album, Social Cues, on April 19.
Austin's own Spoon will be providing the opening performance for what is sure to be a can't-miss show. The tour will also go to Dallas and Houston.
Tickets for this concert go on sale on February 15, and $1 from each ticket will be donated to a local nonprofit battling food insecurity in Austin.
