THE SESSIONS' INSIDE TRACKS
Get the Inside Track on this tour happy ensemble: Exclusive new music from OKSWEETHEART
Traveling from Tulsa to New York and beyond would be exhausting for any band out on the road. Thankfully, OK SWEETHEART had time to visit Sessions producer CJ Vinson’s FacePlant Studio to shoot their Key Session of “If You Let It” in fall of 2010. Singer Erin Austin’s Billie Holiday-esque vocals accompany the band's lone acoustic guitar so perfectly that, if you close your eyes and listen, you will be sent to musical nirvana.
Frontwoman Austin collaborated with members of The Polyphonic Spree, Elizabeth and the Catapult, Via Audio and Midlake to create the band that makes 60s pop-inspired songwriting look like child’s play. OK SWEETHEART released their debut album, Home, in 2011 and haven’t looked back since.
Erin won the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her track “You Let Me Down,” and took home another Lennon award later in the year for the same song. In 2009, Austin City Limits named the group as one of the top five competitors in their “The Sound and The Jury” competition.
If you are a musical fiend (like the rest of us), keep OK SWEETHEART on your radar in the coming months. They update their Twitter page almost daily with new show announcements (find out where they are playing next) and have quite a loyal following of fans. Watch this band continue to stamp their footprint on the music world and don’t forget to “Like” OK SWEETHEART and The Session’s Music LLC on Facebook!
