TV FANATICS UNITE
TV shows galore: The inaugural ATX Festival announces opening night programming
The ATX Television Festival has announced their opening night programming and preliminary schedule and all I can say is: “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose!”
After seeing the list of panels and programming, there’s no way this festival can be any sort of let down for a television fanatic.
The festival, which takes place from June 1 – June 3, will open up with a red carpet screening event of USA Network’s Suits and Royal Pains with crew and cast members from each show in attendance.
USA Network is known for its strong summer programming, so having these two shows open up a television centered festival on the first week of June makes perfect sense. Viewers will be able to catch special sneak peeks of the series’ upcoming seasons and will also be invited to join casts and crews from the USA Network along with festival panelists at the Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental Hotel for the opening night reception.

Additionally, Emmy-award winning executive producer Jason Katims will have a roaring presence at the festival as both of his shows, Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, will be prominently featured in panels and screenings.
Parenthood and Friday Night Lights cast members Adrianne Palicki, Michael B. Jordan, Jason Ritter, Jesse Plemons and Scott Porter have confirmed their attendance along with plenty of others.
Whedonverse fans will also be comfortably accommodated at the festival as well. There will be Firefly screenings with writers Ben Edlund and Jose Molina and a screening with Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Jane Espenson who now serves as a consulting producer to ABC’s Once Upon a Time.
Finally, a One Tree Hill panel will reunite creator Mark Schwahn and cast members James Lafferty and Lindsey McKeon since the series finale this past April.
