Sustainable Food Center invites locals to sip, stroll, and celebrate the richness of the Austin food community. Farm to Plate will feature seasonal bites crafted by dozens of chefs from the city’s most acclaimed restaurants at Barr Mansion. In addition to countless sweet and savory eats, guests can enjoy scores of artisan cocktails and local wine, beer, and spirits to complement the palate. Ballet Austin heads to The Long Center for the Performing Arts to perform 19th century classic Giselle. Written during the Romantic Era, Giselle is a mystical tale of a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart. Performances through May 12.
Texas Burlesque Festival
Things are sure to get fabulous and fierce as The Long Center becomes the epicenter of all things sexy. The 2019 Texas Burlesque Festival includes a barrage of tantalizing performances by alluring dancers from Texas and beyond. Audiences can expect strip tease routines ranging from classic glove-and-garter peels to outlandish takes on pop culture legends. Native Hostel presents 2nd Birthday Party
Native Hostel celebrates two years of being one of the east side's coolest hangouts with an equally badass birthday party. The free shindig features an ice luge, barbecue, music in the garage, games, shots, and waffle fry nachos for one special day. Party guests can also get a new tattoo on-site courtesy of Josh Kendrick and East End Tattoos if so inclined.
