Itching to know who'll be playing the 2012 Austin City Limits Music Festival? The full lineup will be announced on Tuesday, May 22, but music fans have the chance to unveil some of the anticipated acts through the weekend, thanks to ACL's 2012 Lineup Lottery.
Here's the gist: From May 18 through May 21 on the ACL website — and via Facebook and Twitter — festival planners will announce seven unique locations where Austinites can pick up the scratch and win tickets.
After you've snagged a ticket, scratch away to reveal a band that's playing the festival, and then spread the word. ACL suggests sharing the insider information on your social media channel of choice, namely Facebook or Twitter.
Of course, the prizes aren't just being the first to know who's on the illustrious bill. Participants will also be rewarded with highly coveted tangible goodies, from free Bird's Barbershop haircuts to 3-Day or VIP Passes to the festival.
We couldn't bring you this update without a look at some of the first bands revealed in this year's lineup. Quiet Company, arguably Austin's biggest breakout band of 2011, confirmed via Twitter that they will play the festival in October.
Texas songwriting legend Steve Earle will also play, along with Delta Spirit, Punch Brothers and LP.
