FFF Fest 2012
Fun Fun Fun Fest takes over Texas with mega statewide Scavenger Hunt
The Little Fest That Could just doesn't quit, does it? Last year Fun Fun Fun Fest moved to the big leagues with a full three-day festival in a bigger (if dustier) locale. This summer, the FFF team upped the ante of its second annual Aqua Olympics with taco cannons and BMX tricks galore.
And next weekend, Fun Fun Fun Fest takes its famed scavenger hunt to a new Lone Star level.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, Fun Fun Fun Fest will host a statewide edition of its annual Scavenger Hunt, with simultaneous FFF-fashioned hunts in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. It's a quest where teams take over their respective cities to check off a variety of "intriguing, oft-questionable tasks" in exchange for the chance to win FFF passes and sweet gear.
“Witnessing the lengths folks go to for Fun Fun Fun Fest glory is definitely one of the most rewarding perks of this job," says Marketing Director Matt Mandrella. In past quirky quests, fans have gone as far as getting Fun Fun Fun Fest tattoos — all in the name of a hook up for what is arguably Austin's most eclectic and independently-minded festival.
This year, the mega-hunt will kick off across the Lone Star State on the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 22. And in Austin, the starting point is quite appropriately The Mohawk. To participate in any city, all you have to do is fill out a quick form. But you will need a team name and a team captain, which should both be chosen wisely.
Creative team names are a must (this is FFF Fest after all), and your captain should be willing to go to (almost) any lengths in the name of FFF. Maybe even as far as sucking a bartender's toe. Maybe.
