New Year's Eve concerts
Willie Nelson blesses Austin with a "Family New Year's Eve" concert
November blows in today which means it's time to start thinking about what stuff you want to do over the holidays. No, we're not talking about which in-law you have to spend Thanksgiving with, or what to get that cousin who's really into yoga.
We're talking parties! ACL Live just threw down announcing Willie Nelson will play two "Family New Year" concerts at the Moody Theater December 30 and 31. If you decide to attend on New Year's Eve, you'll even get a balloon drop and a champagne toast. Father Time will also be there, as if Willie couldn't do that Oscar-worthy performance himself. If you know Willie, you also know he'll be bringing guests with him.
The concert comes right on the heels of his appearance at the Fire Relief concert just a couple of weeks ago where he received a standing ovation. Willie also christened the new ACL Live venue back in February (you can check out that video at the top of the page). The 78-year old is sill touring around the country regularly; his current tour began in September, with 11 shows in November, mostly in the Northeast and Midwest. According to his website, it appears he'll take December off and then bless Austin with a New Year's event.
Tickets start at $50 and go on sale Friday, November 4 at 10:00 am. Check out the ACL Live website or go on site at Waterloo Records for more ticket info. You can also charge by phone at 877-435-9849.
According to an ACL Live press release, The W Austin will also be offering weekend hotel packages, including tickets for two to the show, cocktails and a hotel room for one night. Click here for more information on those packages.
