Chris Stapleton is bound for the Moody Theater stage once again. After filming an episode of Austin City Limits in February, it was announced that the country superstar will headline the 2019 Mack, Jack & McConaughey fundraiser running April 25-26, 2019.
The five-time Grammy Award winner will perform on April 25 as part of the marquee MJ&M event. Past performers include the Dixie Chicks, Kacey Musgraves, and Toby Keith.
“Chris Stapleton is such a talented musician and we are so excited to welcome him to our MJ&M gala. His unique blend of country, classic rock, and Southern soul will captivate music fans and give them a night to remember,” said Matthew McConaughey in a November 13 release.
In addition to the concert, the two-day fundraiser includes a celebrity golf tournament at Spanish Oaks Golf Course, a fashion show hosted by Camila Alves McConaughey at the Hilton Austin, and a gala hosted inside Moody Theater before the concert.
Now in its seventh year, MJ&M is the brainchild of McConaughey, former UT football coach Mack Brown, and country singer Jack Ingram. Since its inception, the fundraiser has raised almost $10 million for local and national children's charities including CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation, and The Rise School of Austin, according to an earlier release.
Tickets for Stapleton's show go on sale November 16 at 10 am, and range in price from $99-$269 (it is for charity after all). Additional details and ticket information for other MJ&M events is slated to be released closer to April.
