Texans sure know how to party. For the second year in a row, Austin has been named one of the nation's top party cities, according to Evite. The digital invitation service analyzed data for the past year to compile the Top Party Cities of 2016, recognizing the places that plan the most parties, events, and get-togethers throughout the year.

Austin comes in at No. 3 with 61,502 events, the same ranking as 2015. And Dallas ranks No. 11 with 40,920 happenings.

Houston takes the No. 1 spot again. Nearly 71,000 events were planned in Houston, and with the Super Bowl around the corner, the number of parties is expected to jump in the coming year.

In the current rankings, Chicago is No. 2, while San Diego, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Seattle, San Jose, and Washington fill out the top 10 (in positions 4 through 10, respectively).

“We would like to congratulate Evite’s Top Party Cities of 2016,” Evite CEO Victor Cho said in a press release. “These cities are leading the way when it comes to bringing people together face-to-face and strengthening connections with friends and family. We are confident they will keep on partying throughout the holiday season and beyond!”

Evite notes that the biggest party days of the year are usually the last two Saturdays before Christmas. This year, the most parties are expected to be held on December 10 and 17 (since the last Saturday before Christmas is both Christmas Eve and the start of Hanukkah).
