4 must-see New Year's Eve shows in Austin, plus more music to close out 2022
Whether you want to welcome 2023 in style or you just need a good night out after spending Christmas with your family, we’ve got you covered here with some local show recommendations for the remainder of 2022. Have fun.
Keep Austin Cheer’d at Continental Club – December 29 & 30
Head to the Continental Club on December 29 and 30 for Keep Austin Cheer’d. Rock duo Me Nd Adam will headline both nights, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Casa Marianella, a charity that provides shelter and support services for displaced immigrants from around the world. See below for the lineups for each night. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of. The lineups are as follows:
- Thursday, December 29: Me Nd Adam with Flora & Fawna, Angel White, and Jude Parrish
- Friday, December 30: Me Nd Adam with Mutts, THEBROSFRESH, and Jude Parrish
Sir Woman at the Mohawk – Friday, December 30
Sir Woman (Kelsey Wilson of Wild Child) will have her neo soul sound on display at the Mohawk on Friday, December 30. Be sure to show up early for Texas Strings Assembly and Angel White. Tickets for the show are $20.
Ghostland Observatory at the Mohawk – Saturday, December 31
Famed electro-rockers Ghostland Observatory are set to ring in the New Year at the Mohawk, and they’ll be joined by Urban Heat, one of Austin’s most buzzed about bands in 2022. Expect a limited-edition poster, a champagne toast, and more. GA tickets are $75, and there’s a VIP pass available for $125.
Glitters Eve at Hotel Vegas – Saturday, December 31
The NYE party at Hotel Vegas is called Glitters Eve, and it will feature the music of Blondie, David Bowie, Black Sabbath and many others as performed by the likes of Moving Panoramas, A Giant Dog, Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band and lots more. Tickets for the show are $30.66.
David Ramirez at 3TEN - Saturday, December 31
If you want to “Dance Yrself Clean” on NYE, then swing by 3TEN, where David Ramirez & Friends will be putting on a full set of LCD Soundsystem covers. A Cake cover band, Icing, will open the show, and there will be a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets for the show are $55.
Cumbia NYE at the Far Out Lounge - Saturday, December 31
For a Cumbia NYE, get yourself to the Far Out Lounge. Grupo Fantasma and Superfonicos will be performing, as will DJ Trucha Soul. Tickets for the show are $25 in advance, $40 the day of the show. There’s also a VIP option for $100, which includes a champagne toast, complimentary bites, and more.
