17th Annual Austin Asian American Film Festival
Asian cinema takes the silver screen at AFS Cinema. Highlights of the five-day Austin Asian American Film Festival include the opening night film All That We Love, starring Margaret Cho, and centerpiece film Chinatown Cha-Cha by Luka Yuanyuan Yang. Moody Center presents Phish in concert
Rock band Phish performs live at Moody Center for two back-to-back nights. The group is best known for their long, improvised explorations and a psychedelic aesthetic. They come to Austin in support of their 2024 album, Evolve. For more details, visit Ticketmaster.
Comedy Mothership presents Rich Vos
Comedian Rich Vos performs new material through the weekend at Comedy Mothership. The stand-up entertainer has four specials on Comedy Central and is known for his appearances in Judd Apatow’s King of Staten Island. Tickets for all shows are available now.

Pease Park Conservancy and Future Front Texas presents Pride Picnic
Pease Park Conservancy and Future Front Texas team up for a Pride Month celebration in the park. Activities include a market featuring LGBTQ+ vendors, workshops, interactive craft stations, bites and sips from local food trucks, and live DJ sets by Queer Vinyl Co. Picnic admission is free and open to the public.
Austin African American Book Festival
Black literature is celebrated in the city limits with the return of the Annual Austin African American Book Festival. Guests can visit the George Washington Carver Museum for a day of author discussions, children’s activities, special appearances, and more. This year’s headlining author is Walter Mosley. He will be joined in conversation with publisher Paul Coates. Festival admission is free and open to the public.
Star Bar 30th Anniversary Party
Beloved West Sixth Street locale Star Bar celebrates 30 years of business at this special event. Guests can enjoy limited-edition merch, food from Thunderchief and Via 313 Pizza, and throwback ‘90s cocktails in honor of the bar’s founding year, 1995. Party admission is free.
Moody Amphitheater presents Blue October in concert
Rock band Blue October performs live at the Moody Amphitheater. The Houston-founded group is best know for hit songs like “My Never” and “Into the Ocean.” They come to Austin to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their first live concert film and album Argue With A Tree.
