AFTER DARK
Popular adult-only Austin Public Library series returns for an evening of summer camp fun
It’s time for an adult-only summer camp mini-retreat. The Austin Public Library has brought back their popular “APL After Dark” evening series with their first coming up on June 30.
Every quarterly event, co-presented by APL and The Library Foundation, has a unique theme and matching entertainment activities. June's theme is "summer camp," and the Central Library will have plenty of games, music, cocktails, and more available for attendees, as well as some breathtaking views from the rooftop garden at night.
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department and their rangers will join in to share their outdoor stories and enlightening wildlife adventures. The Austin Bat Refuge will also be in attendance with some live bats. Their experts will teach visitors about the importance of Texas bat history and conservation.
Interactive activities also include screenprinting with Bibliographia, making fun campfire tune with South Austin Ukulele, and a Campfire Story Hour with some of Austin’s local drag queens.
APL After Dark will take place from 7 to 10 pm on June 30. Tickets ($10) can be purchased on Eventbrite. More information about APL After Dark can be found on the Austin Public Library website.
