Trading Cards Galore
Legendary NFL QB Tom Brady brings sports card store to Austin

One of the eye-catching elements inside each store is a mural that honors the city's iconic sports legends, like the one at this Dallas location.
A celebrity-owned store specializing in trading cards is coming to Austin. CardVault, founded in 2020 by a team headlined by former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, is opening a location at 259 W. 3rd St. on Wednesday, May 27.
CardVault specializes in sports cards, trading cards, and authenticated memorabilia, and currently has seven other locations in the U.S. in major cities like New York, Boston, and Chicago. A new location in Dallas opened in October of 2025.
The first 25 customers in line on opening day will receive a limited-edition Austin themed CardVault by Tom Brady hat. Anyone who attends the grand opening celebration the same day can also enter to win a Ricky Williams autographed mini helmet.
Brady, arguably the best NFL quarterback of all time, says he has a personal passion for the hobby. He acquired an ownership stake in February 2025; as part of the deal, CardVault changed its name to "CardVault by Tom Brady."
CardVault promises an "immersive retail experience to collectors and fans alike," blending local sports heritage with cutting-edge collectibles. In Austin, that will probably mean some items from the University of Texas and Austin FC. A release also invokes Formula 1 as a local sports culture driver.
Its inventory includes both individual cards and sealed boxes organized by sport and category. The store's signature vault showcases authenticated, game-used memorabilia and exclusive autographed collectibles.
The Austin location will also offer exclusive merchandise, including limited-edition apparel and collectibles from brands like Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, Pokémon, and Fanatics Authentic.
“Austin is an exciting and strategic market for us,” said co-founder and managing partner Chris Costa in a press release. “With its energy, culture, and constant influx of major events like Formula 1, it’s the perfect place to bring CardVault’s community-driven collecting experience to life. Couple that with the storied history of UT sports and the 2nd Street District is a natural fit for our brand. We’re looking forward to building something special in Austin.”
In addition to its retail offerings, CardVault by Tom Brady serves as an authorized submission center for PSA, Beckett, and SGC, providing on-site grading submission services to help collectors protect and elevate their most valued cards.
The store will be open seven days a week from 10 am to 8 pm. Special events will activate the space from a community angle beyond retail.
