Sarah McLachlan to perform '93 album in entirety on tour with stop in Austin
Singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her 1993 breakout album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, on her 2024 North American tour, which includes at stop at Moody Amphitheater in Austin on Friday, July 5.
The 30-date tour, which starts in Seattle, Washington on May 25, will culminate with three concerts in Texas. In addition to Austin, McLachlan will also play in Irving on July 3 and Sugar Land on July 6.
She will be joined by special guest Feist at all but one of the tour dates.
Fumbling Towards Ecstasy was McLachlan's third studio album, one which quickly rose the charts in her native Canada and made her first big impression in the United States thanks to hit songs like "Possession,” "Hold On," “Ice Cream,” and "Good Enough.”
On the tour, McLachlan will play the album in its entirety, along with some of her most celebrated songs
After that album, McLachlan would go on to become one of the most notable female singers of the 1990s, earning three Grammy Awards and founding the Lilith Fair tour, which showcased female musicians.
“I think it’s interesting as an artist or as a human for that matter, to be able to go back and look at a postcard of a time in your life and reflect on it,” said McLachlan in a statement. “I think this tour is going to be a real walk down memory lane for me, and I’m hoping that my audience, many of whom have been with me for 30 years, will also be able to go back in time with me.”
Tickets will be available starting with artist and Citi presales beginning on Tuesday, December 12. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on Friday, December 15 at 12 PM at livenation.com.
