Now, both the bride and groom can wear Vera Wang on their wedding day
Vera Wang has long been a leading designer of exquisite bridal gowns, dressing celebrity clients like Chelsea Clinton and Kim Kardashian on their wedding day. Soon the designer will be outfitting the groom, too.
Wang recently entered into an agreement to design a new tuxedo rental collection called Black by Vera Wang for Houston-based Men's Wearhouse.
The inaugural collection, due out in the spring, will offer two modern tuxedo styles, with one style in black and the second style in gray. The black tuxedo will feature a two-button notch, grosgrain lapel with side vents. Flat-front pant will feature a grosgrain stripe detail. The gray style will include a two-button, satin edge notch lapel with side vents and a classic, flat-front pant.

"As one of the world's most celebrated designers, we are pleased to partner with Vera Wang for the Black by Vera Wang collection," Doug Ewert, CEO of Men's Wearhouse, Inc, said in a statement. "Men's Wearhouse has always been a leader in the men's specialty retail industry, and this exclusive partnership will allow us to continue providing our customers with high quality and reputable brands."
Men's Wearhouse is a leader in the tuxedo rental business, with formalwear in more than 900 stores around the United States. Women's Wear Daily reports that getting into the tuxedo rental business has allowed Men’s Wearhouse to attract a younger shopper to its stores.
Wang, whose couture wedding gowns can run upwards of $15,000 each, has recently ventured into the more moderately-priced market in a big way. Her Simply Vera Vera Wang collection of contemporary women's clothing and accessories has done so well at Kohl's since it was introduced in 2007 that she recently signed a deal to launch a juniors collection called Princess Vera Wang in August at the retailer.
She also will offer a less expensive women's wedding gown collection called White by Vera Wang at David's Bridal stores in the spring. The gowns will retail between $800 - $1,500. Men’s Wearhouse is the tuxedo rental partner of David’s Bridal.
