Buzzy Austin shopping destination bags new leather goods shop and coffeehouse
The Domain and Domain Northside may grab the headlines, but lately it's been another Austin destination has quietly developed into one of the area's premier shopping and dining destinations. Now, the Hill Country Galleria is introducing another new concept.
On December 5, the shopping center announced its newest tenant via a release. Runaway Luna Coffeehouse & Lifestyle Boutique, located at at 12700 Hill Country Blvd., combines craft coffee with a curated selection handcrafted leather goods.
The hand-tooled handbags and accessories are inspired by mother-daughter owners Cathy and Hanna Galbraith’s travels through Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Bright colors like tomato red and cobalt blue give the goods a contemporary edge.
In addition to serving as a boutique, Runaway Luna acts as a laid-back cafe and meeting space. The menu includes drinks made from Big Ben Coffee Roasters beans and baked goods and treats from Richmond, Texas’ The Bearded Baking Company.
The environment is bright and sunny with striking turquoise shelving, Edison bulb fixtures, and copper-colored metal chairs. Though the handbags provide plenty of visual appeal, the shop also displays work from local artist Jennifer Landis of Composed Chaos Art.
Runaway Luna will soon be joined by several other new tenants in the ever-growing hub. In 2020, Austin-based pet supply retailer Healthy Pet, a new location of The League Kitchen & Tavern, and French pastry shop FoliePop’s will all make their debut.
