Fast-growing Austin suburb continues transformation with massive new retail center
KVUE — CSW Development broke ground on October 3 on a new 42-acre, 250,000-square-foot retail center in Georgetown.
The Austin-based developer plans to include several restaurants, medical facilities, neighborhood services, a hotel and a grocery store across 14 buildings upon completion. Located just north of Austin at Interstate Highway 35 and Texas Highway 29, the center will be called Wolf Crossing.
“Wolf Crossing would not be possible if not for the extensive, collaborative efforts of JLL, the City of Georgetown and the team at CSW,” said Todd Wallace, CSW Development CEO. “Today, thanks to their hard work and support, we’re making our vision a reality.”
Developers say it will serve as the "gateway" to Georgetown's historic downtown area. It will also feature a trailhead, providing a link to the San Gabriel River's trail system.
“Our team has worked diligently over the past eighteen months to create a unique customer experience for the residents of Georgetown and guests from around the region to enjoy,” said Kevin Hunter, CSW Development COO and CFO. “A focused comprehensive effort by numerous stakeholders was required to make this possible; we’re thrilled to have construction underway.”
City of Georgetown staff worked closely with CSW to bring the new center to life.
“The City of Georgetown strives to be a valuable development partner.” City Manager David Morgan said. “We put together a team for the Wolf Crossing project that spanned several City departments to work efficiently with CSW in order to achieve their vision and find creative solutions to the hurdles we faced.”
A list of anticipated retailers includes Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, Verizon, P. Terry's, Jason's Deli, Tiff's Treats, First Watch Café and Salons by JC.
Wolf Crossing, which the Austin Business Journal reports is estimated to cost $200 million, is set to open fall 2019.
