Stunning Lake Austin home from famed architect goes up for auction
Affluent Austinites with a few million dollars to spare will have a chance to own a breathtaking piece of real estate in Austin's exclusive Marina Club Condominium neighborhood. This elegant Lake Austin retreat with a private boat slip is headed for a live auction on Saturday, January, 18 at 2 pm.
The three-story home was previously on the market for $5.4 million, but Saturday's auction will allow the property to be sold to the highest bidder who meets (or surpasses) the reserve price of $2.1 million.
The lucky winner will become the new owner of a 4,236-square-foot residence that boasts three spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a separate half bath, all situated on a quarter-acre lot. The home's abundance of natural light stands out as one of the key features, and its spacious balconies also provide ample views of the beautiful Lake Austin scenery and the iconic Pennybacker Bridge.
The home was built in 2000 by the late Austin architect Dick Clark, who designed some of Austin's most notable spaces. It underwent substantial renovations in 2020 by local design firm Slic Design. The auction will be managed by Miami-based company Platinum Luxury Auctions.
Additional features of the home include:
- A gourmet kitchen equipped with dual pantries, a commercial-grade range, an indoor gas grill, and more
- A shared living and dining area featuring a curved fireplace, high ceilings, a wet bar and Sub-Zero ice maker, and access to a large balcony
- A spiral staircase wrapped around a glass elevator that reaches all three levels of the home
- A media room set up with surround sound and a projector

Though the property is not located directly on the water, the HOA-maintained private boat dock is only a two-minute walk away. The covered slip, which Lesnock says is "the proverbial icing on the cake" for the listing, can accommodate boats up to 30 feet in length with a beam of about nine feet.
As part of the Marina Club community, which is part of the greater Austin Country Club development, the residence will be protected by guarded security for 24 hours a day, and the entire area is gated.
Potential bidders have until 5 pm on Friday, January 17, to register with Platinum Luxury Auctions to bid on the property on Saturday.
