East side fave Via 313 sets opening date for South Austin pizza joint
The Detroit-style pies that have taken over the east side will descend on South Austin next week. The team behind Via 313 has announced that its Oak Hill brick-and-mortar will open on April 29.
In addition to the signature deep dish pizza that put Via 313 on the map, the Oak Hill location will serve a new "bar-style" pizza that features a thinner, crispier crust (along with all of the delicious Via 313 ingredients). The restaurant's expanded menu also includes specialty salads, desserts, Faygo soda and 12 beers on tap.
"Our goal from day one has always been to open a restaurant," said co-owner Zane Hunter in a press release. "Because of the great response to our trailers, the pieces are in place to make our dream a reality," added his brother (and co-owner) Brandon Hunter.
The 75-seat restaurant will initially be open for dinner service. Via 313 fans can expect lunch service — and weekend brunch — to be added in the future. "We’re excited to connect with the neighborhood and be the go-to place for family fun or to grab a drink with some friends," said Brandon.
