10 best Austin restaurants for Mother's Day brunch
Mother’s Day is the one day each year when we honor everything that our mothers do for us — and it's the one day when they should be pampered and treated to a relaxing and delicious outing and meal. A sumptuous brunch always makes for a memorable outing, and in Austin that can include music, manicures, mimosas, barbecue, and even a crawfish boil.
Here are our top 10 brunches for Mom on Mother's Day, May 14.
Blackfinn Ameripub
Jazz, a flower, and a complimentary mimosa are all gifts for Mom on Mothers’ Day at Blackfinn Ameripub. With music provided by Austin's own Jon Klekman Trio, the brunch also features five flavors of bubbly concoctions, an a la carte menu, and special kids' menu. We love the breakfast balboa. Brunch is served from 11 am to 3 pm. Music from noon to 3 pm.
The Carillon
If you want to really impress Mom, the extensive brunch buffet at this classic restaurant should fit the bill. The menu will include an omelet bar, eggs Benedict, pastries, salads, shooters, seafood, Wagyu beef, shrimp cocktails, and a special kids' buffet. 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. $68 per adult and $25 for children ages 6-12.
Driskill Hotel
In addition to an elegant brunch served at the Driskill Grill, the hotel will host a Victorian-themed afternoon tea on Mother's Day with pastries, champagne, scones, tea sandwiches, and more. Reservations for the tea are required. 3 pm. $60 for adults and $40 for children.
Eddie V’s
Eddie V’s will feature all of Mom’s favorites — lobster quiche, fried green tomatoes, bananas Foster, and more. The downtown location also has jazz on the menu. 10 am to 3 pm. $49 for adults and $15 for children.
Fixe
Bourbon and biscuits — Southern cooking in Austin doesn’t get any better than this. Fixe is offering an all-day brunch just for Mother's Day, 11 am to 8 pm.
Freedmen’s
If you just can’t get enough barbecue and traditional fixings, head down to Freedmen’s for deviled eggs, smoked ham, brisket, cornbread queso Benedict, and retro cocktails. Located in a historic building near campus, this is the restaurant you have been wanting to check out. 11 am to 4 pm.
Goodall’s Kitchen at Hotel Ella
Mom will love the food and the pampering at this three-course brunch featuring chioggia beet salad, crab Benedict, and strawberry shortcake, plus a free mimosa for her. Austin-based Nails Y’all will be available to pamper moms with free manicures and hand-painted nail art from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Brunch will be served from 10 am to 3 pm. $45 for adults; kids' menu is available.
Italic
For one day only, Italic is bringing back brunch. Treat Mom to Italian drink specials and the a la carte menu, which includes frittatas, pizzas, duck ragu, French toast, and Tuscan breakfast. 10:30 am to 3 pm.
Lonesome Dove
Chef Tim Love is offering a three-course brunch with special cocktails featuring fresh-squeezed orange juice. Brunch includes your choice of signature tapas appetizer, entrée, and dessert. 10:30 am to 3 pm. $35 per person.
Spider House
It is the fourth annual crawfish boil with music by Ruby Dee and the Snakehandlers. Doors open at 2:30, and it is free to attend. $15 for a 3-pound plate of crawfish and fixings. Drink specials from Lone Star Beer and Kettle One Vodka. All ages are welcome.
