Less than a year after opening its first Austin location on Bee Caves Road, California-based Trader Joe's announced it will be opening its new Arboretum-area location on June 20 at 8 am.
The 13,000-square-foot store will be housed in the former Saks Fifth Avenue location at 9722 Great Hills Tr. In a press release, Trader Joe's said the new store will still feature its signature Hawaiian-inspired decor, but will also have a special nod to its North Austin neighborhood.
Trader Joe's has made a huge push into Texas territory over the past few years, with seven stores currently operating and six projected to open soon, including Austin's third store at the new Seaholm mixed-use development. Recently Trader Joe's beat out hometown hero Whole Foods Market to be crowned "America's Best Grocery Store."
So get those shopping carts ready, North Austinites, because come June, you'll be stocking up on that Two-Buck Chuck and cookie butter.
