Top Austin Italian restaurant reopens after temporary shutter
One of Austin's top Italian restaurants is back with a new name, new menu, and new look. Juliet Ristorante reopens as Juliet Italian Kitchen Monday, June 19, at 3 pm for happy hour.
"We have made some really fun changes over the past two weeks, from our food and beverage offerings to our new look, and I can't wait to unveil what we have been up to," says executive chef Jacob Weaver in a release. "We are looking forward to sharing our version of Italian-American comfort food on Barton Springs Road."
A new all-day menu includes more "red-sauce" Italian fare, like hand-made pasta, pizza, salads, soups, and family-style options. Entrees include veal marsala, chicken piccata, and linguini with clam sauce.
The kitchen is offering a prix fixe lunch menu — an antipasti and entree for $15.95 — on weekdays from 11:30 am to 3 pm. And brunch returns on the weekends, with deals on rosé by the bottle.
To accompany the new menu, local firm Design Hound has added more color to the space, including a new custom mural by Judy Paul. Additionally, the indoor lounge has been converted into a waiting area and private dining room.
Juliet is also teaming up with KUTX 98.9 to host a regular live music series on its expansive patio. Jazz at Juliet Italian Kitchen launches July 5 with The Cameron Riggs Quartet and runs every other Wednesday through October 25.
"Austin is a city full of art and culture, and it's important to us that our atmosphere and cuisine complement the neighborhood we live in," says owner Dan Wilkins in a release. "We are excited to unveil the changes to the restaurant and we are confident that our patrons will enjoy the new menu, improved service, and more casual environment."
Juliet Italian Kitchen is open for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and brunch. Hours are Monday and Tuesday, 11:30 am to 9 pm; Wednesday through Friday, 11:30 am to 10 pm; Saturday, 11 am to 10 pm; and Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm.
