If you're looking for any post-Fourth of July plans, Oasis, Texas has you covered: The Lake Travis attraction is hosting a free market/music event this Saturday, July 6.
Hilltop First Saturday is a new monthly event at Oasis, Texas launching this month. Small shops, independent vendors, local designers and crafty artisans will gather at the new development to sell their Austin goods from the hours of 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Additionally, live music from Ed Kilman, Contrafact and Allen Oldies Band will be featured during the gathering, as will bites and sips from Soleil restaurant.
"There are so many talented artists and artisans in this town, and we wanted to take the opportunity to gather the Austin community together and show off their great works," says Bob Schultz, an owner of Oasis, Texas.
"There are so many talented artists and artisans in this town, and we wanted to take the opportunity to gather the Austin community together and show off their great works," says Bob Schultz, president of RHS Interest Inc., and an owner of Oasis, Texas. "What better way to celebrate Austin than with music and the arts?"
A few of the featured shops at the event will include Zoltan David Fine Jewelry, Lakeview Winery, Kaleidoscope Dreams (specialty chocolates), Cattiva Cosmetics, Stream Bikini (boutique bikinis) and GoodPop. Schultz says he is excited about developing and expanding the Saturday event in the months to come. He also hopes to plan one Saturday around local Airstream businesses in town.
Oasis, Texas is slowly but surely piecing together the details and plans for further development. "This is a slow, methodical growth, and we want to appreciate and nurture that process. This isn't going to be some tourist trap we throw together; it's a beautiful location and we want people to see this as the best of the Hill Country, the best of Austin, and the best of Texas," Schultz emphasizes.
Schultz says they're also very close to announcing important news about their brewery. "We've got some fun stuff coming up, especially regarding the brewery, and we're excited to announce those plans very soon."
