Your passport has arrived: Tickets to the 10th Annual Tour de Vin are on salenow
Sometimes all it takes is a glass of fine wine to transport you to another time and place.
The 10th Annual Tour de Vin, a signature event of the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas, returns to the W Hotel on Friday, August 24 with your chance to explore, at least for one night, wine and food flavors from around the globe, without ever having to leave Austin.
The evening begins as you grab a "passport" to become a food and wine globetrotter. Each stop brings new wine and expertly matched cuisine, prepared with local or international influences in mind.
As many as 20 wineries will be in attendance, representing Japan, America, Italy, South America, France, Greece and Germany. Of course, some of Austin's most loved restaurants — Barley Swine, Kenichi, Swifts Attice, Trace — will be providing the innovative fare.
And while this should be enough to whet your appetite, the event doesn't stop there. The night also includes live multi-cultural performances and a silent auction that boasts everything from tickets to see the GoGo's at ACL Live to a helicopter trip to November's Formula 1 race.
If you're looking for a guided excursion through the world of wine, Tour de Vin offers that, too. You can sign up to experience the event at the capable hands of a Gusto sommelier, who will lead six-person tours at the event. This addition to the event is free, but space is limited, so sign up soon.
