Four Seasons' new Lobby Lounge happy hour: The best just got better
When you think "Four Seasons" you don’t exactly think "bargain," but then again you do get what you pay for, and their legendary service and world-class product are well worth the price tag. Well, just as the saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” Now, you don't have to sacrifice fabulousness for frugalness. After over two decades, the Lobby Lounge affectionately known as “Austin’s living room” is finally offering its patrons a happy hour.
The new Lobby Lounge happy hour at Four Seasons is offered from 7 - 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with specials on Texas-inspired cocktails, wines and beers. One of the things Four Seasons does so well as a company is embrace local flavor. No matter what property you visit, you truly feel as though you are in a distinct locale. Austin is no exception with Texas-inspired art, deer head adorned walls and cowhide outfittings. It’s no surprise Four Seasons' Austin outpost partnered with Go Texan, which promotes Texan products and agriculture, to introduce their all-things-Texan drink offerings.
Austin is already known for offering phenomenal happy hour deals throughout the city; now this iconic see-and-be-seen establishment enters the mix. Assistant food and beverage manager, Erica Stoltenberg, was spot-on when she stated, “To me, a bar in Austin should have a happy hour, and partnering with Go Texas gives us the opportunity to promote Texas products even more.”
The menu offers cocktails made with local liquors such as Roxor Gin (Gin n’ Jam), Z Tequila (Paloma) and Tito’s Vodka (my favorite, the Watermelon Thump Martini). Local wine selections include Duchman Family Winery, Becker Vineyards and McPherson Cellars—the McPherson Viognier being particularly perfect for summertime sipping. Beer lovers can enjoy local brews from Real Ale Brewing Company, Independence Brewing Co. and Shiner.
Four Seasons is really spoiling us; they launched the Lounge happy hour in at 7 p.m. to piggyback on their already, highly popular happy hour at Trio’s wine bar, offered from 5 - 7 p.m. I love to go and visit with Susie, who’s behind the Trio bar most evenings, for her exceptionally warm hospitality and contagious laugh and smile. All wines by the glass are half-off, as well an enticing selection of appetizers. I’m addicted to their Steak Fries seasoned with rosemary and garlic and served with a side of truffle aioli for dipping, which pair perfectly with the Prince Edward Island Mussels. And did I mention the fabulous new and old world wine offerings were hand selected by master sommelier, Mark Sayre?
Good things really do come to those who wait. So thank you Four Seasons; it was well worth it.
