Wildly popular Bakery Lorraine brings signature macarons to first Austin location
You’ve probably seen them on your Instagram feed — neat rows of multi-colored macarons that are almost too pretty to eat. Sadly, if you actually want to try a box of Bakery Lorraine’s delectable pastries, you have to brave the Interstate 35 traffic to San Antonio.
But local sugar fiends won’t have to despair much longer, as the cult pastry shop will be opening its first Austin location in Domain Northside’s Rock Rose.
If you haven’t heard of Bakery Lorraine, it’s time to put it on your radar. Chef/owners Anne Ng and Jeremy Mandrell come with serious culinary pedigrees, having worked at internationally known shops like Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. Along with co-owner and operator Charlie Biedenharn, the pair have made Lorraine a favorite of customers and critics alike, earning high praise from national publications like Food & Wine and Conde Nast Traveler and a recent nod from StarChefs Rising Stars Award as Best Concept.
In addition to the popular macarons, the shop serves a variety of French pasties and coffee drinks, and a full breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menu including rich bistro favorites like quiche Lorraines, croque madames, tartines, and pain au chocolat. We are already booking exercise classes in preparation for the fall 2018 opening.
