East Austin hotspot hosts dog party and adoption event for National Pet Month
While Memorial Day weekend always feels like the first big celebration of summer, one East Austin bar is keeping the party going. On Wednesday, May 29, Dainty Dillo will host a dog party in celebration of National Pet Month.
Taking over the former Tillery Kitchen and Bar space at 3201 East Cesar Chavez St., Dainty Dillo opened in February 2024 as an offshoot of the popular South Austin concept, Armadillo Den. The expansive patio is a perfect venue for events, and the Dog Day party promises to be a fun time for both human and animal attendees.
Kicking off at 6 pm and ending at 9 pm, the event is a great chance to sample the bar’s locally sourced beer, wine, and cocktails as well as its shareable menu of sandwiches, snacks, and salads.
Meanwhile, furry companions can be pampered by the pet-related vendors on site. Booths include: locally-designed dog hats, bowls, and specialty robes (“WraPups”) from Dogsht; greeting cards, prints, and more dog-patterned stationery from Just Right Dog Design Co; handmade dog treats from the Pawstin Barkery; dog food, daycare, treats, and discounts on spa services from Barkin Creek Dog Kitchen + Bath; and leashes, collars, and clothing from Furever Grateful.
Best of all, guests who don’t already have their own furry companion (or are looking to add to the family) will have a chance to adopt a new furever friend from Rescue PAC, a Central Texas-based canine rescue nonprofit organization.
No tickets are required for the event, and entry is free and open to the public.
