Leadership Austin's 13th annual Best Party Ever lives up to its name
On Friday, May 9, Austin's brightest leaders gathered at the W Hotel for Leadership Austin's 13th annual Best Party Ever. The event turned into an all-night blowout that saw revelers partying until the wee hours of the morning at an after-party held at TRACE.
But partying wasn't the full agenda of the evening. As is tradition with Best Party Ever, three of Austin's most extraordinary leaders were honored for their work in the local community. This year, Bobbie Barker of St. David's Foundation received the Polly Scallorn Community Trustee Award; Carol Thompson of The Thompson Group received the Exceptional Award for an Honorary Alumnus; and James Nortey of Andrews Kurth LLP, received the Ascendant Award.
At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, guests noshed on bites, sipped cocktails and participated in a silent auction before taking the dance floor by storm. In attendance were event co-chairs Toya Haley and Laura Merritt, Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole, City Manager Marc Ott, InFluential Magazine's William Jackson and H-E-B's Leticia Mendoza.
Best Party Ever celebrates Leadership Austin's 35-year legacy of molding Austin's influential class. More information on the organization and its initiatives can be found here.
