The lowdown: Austin's savvy philanthropists came out and gave back on Thursday, September 11 for the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS's Urban Picnic by Design. The unique fundraiser, which benefited AIDS Services of Austin, asked some of Austin's premier artisans and design houses to craft beautiful picnic spaces. Guests then dined at the settings and bid on picnic baskets teeming with goodies.
Among the local designers who took part were Keith Kreeger of Keith Kreeger Studios, Kim West, Rebekah Gainsley from Blink Interiors, Sarah Stacey Interior Design, Scheer & Co. Interior Design, Kelly LaPlante and Kelly Truesdale. (Make sure to check out Emily Basham-Hoelscher, Merrill Alley and Shannon Stott-Sosa'sBreaking Bad-themed design. It was quite the crowd pleaser.)
