La Dolce Vita: Recapping a night of permitted overindulgence
You would think after eight years of attending La Dolce Vita, I'd learn my lesson. It's clear, as I sit here with a mild headache and feeling a tad dehydrated, that I have not. It's impossible not to overindulge in all the incredible food and wine available at this annual fundraiser benefitting the Austin Museum of Art's eduction programs.
I'm pretty certain I stopped by at least 50 of the 60 restaurant and wine booths spread across the beautiful lawn at Laguna Gloria (which is where AMOA is currently hosting all its exhibitions since closing their downtown museum space last month)βan impressive feat.
I remember thinking "pace yourself" when I first arrived but that idea went out the window after I saw what some of my favorite restaurants like Moonshine, La Sombra, and Paggi House were serving. Couple that with a glass or two (or three or four) of wine from various local wineries and even more food from restaurants I'd never heard of (Eleven Plates & Wine and Cazamance) and you have one stuffed, slightly tipsy and incredibly satisfied La Dolce Vita participant.
