Mack Brown's Loss
Fire destroys Mack Brown's home and UT memorabilia
Labor Day weekend should have been a new beginning for former University of Texas head football coach Mack Brown who started a gig as college football analyst for ABC and ESPN. But Brown's fresh start turned south before the first round of games kicked off on Saturday.
Last week, Mack Brown's house in Linville, North Carolina burned down. The Austin-American Statesman reports that only the house’s two chimneys are left standing.
Brown used the North Carolina house as a vacation property while he was the head coach at the University of Texas. Since his retirement from coaching, Brown spent more time in the mountain home.
KVUE reports that Brown had recently relocated much of his Longhorn football memorabilia from his Austin residence to the North Carolina abode. He hasn’t stated what exactly was lost in the fire, but he took to Twitter to express his thanks to fans.
Thx for your thoughts and prayers about the loss of our house. Tough deal, but thanks. Blessed everyone is fine and we are moving forward.
