Well, look who's arrived. East Austin's newest boutique hotel (oh, there will be more) is permanently checking into 1813 E. Sixth St. this July.
Arrive East Austin bills itself as "a low-key luxury property," teasing that it's "not your grandmother's hotel." Check-in for the 83-room property happens at the bar, complete with a free cocktail and snack for weary travelers.
From there, guests move onto either a studio or suite, both of which are outfitted by bedding and Turkish towels from Brooklinen, which you may recognize as the sponsor of your favorite podcast, and Niven Morgan bath products.
The Millennial vibes continue throughout the stay. Requests are made via text message and "with smartphones handy, photos are inevitable because Arrive's signature bright wallpaper is as IG-worthy," the hotel said in a release. For other design elements, the hotel tapped the Oregon-based Wood Castle to craft the interior millwork and Austin's own Sarah Presson to create large-scale collages.
The 8,600-square-foot space also includes two restaurants and a retail space. Though a rep wasn't able to reveal many details, they did share the name of the two concepts: Vixen's Wedding, focusing on Goa and Portuguese cuisine, and Lefty's Brick Bar, an outdoor bar.
Arrive East Austin the third property for the brand, which specializes in opening small-ish hotels in smaller markets like Palm Springs and Wilmington, North Carolina.
In a 2017 release, Arrive co-founder Ezra Callahan explained the company's decision build on the east side. "East Austin's energy is magnetic," he said. "It is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the country and one we are proud to join and to celebrate." In addition to Austin, Arrive has plans to open accommodations in Phoenix and Memphis in 2019.
To celebrate the grand opening, Arrive East Austin is offering $150 room rates beginning this July through Labor Day.
