New nonstop flight connects Austin with Amsterdam — for limited time

Austin's newest nonstop flight connects us to a top international destination — but there's a catch. Delta Air Lines is launching nonstop service from Amsterdam to Austin during SXSW 2018 only.
Four nonstop, round-trip flights are scheduled for March 8, 9, 14, and 18, 2018, between Amsterdam's Airport Schiphol and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Passengers will be traveling on a Boeing 767-300 with 225 seats.
Each Amsterdam flight will connect to other European flights operated by Air France, KLM, and Alitalia, allowing visitors from across Europe to travel with ease.
"Events like the SXSW always attract thousands of international visitors, so it's important for Delta to meet the demands of our customers by offering special flights to these events," says Dwight James, Delta's senior vice president, Transatlantic, in a release.
"This is one benefit of both our large fleet and partnership with KLM — we can schedule services across our network as demand dictates, whether that's a summer seasonal service or these flights to Austin."
Another nonstop international flight takes off from Austin around the same time. Norwegian will introduce a low-cost, nonstop flight from ABIA to London's Gatwick Airport on March 27, 2018.
