Getting out of town on the cheap just got easier, as Frontier Airlines is introducing eight new nonstop flights to its Austin roster.
The low-cost airline will launch nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to New Orleans; Ontario, California; Phoenix; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, in October 2017. Introductory fares for one-way tickets went on sale Tuesday, July 18, and they start as low as $34.
New flights to Charlotte, North Carolina; Cincinnati; Columbus, Ohio; and San Jose, California, will launch in time for spring 2018 travel. Tickets are expected to go on sale in September.
"Customers traveling from Austin now have a new significantly lower cost option to reach these great destinations," says Tyri Squyres, vice president of marketing for Frontier, in a release.
The Capital City service is part of the airline's major expansion in which Frontier added 21 new destinations and more than doubled its number of total routes.
"We project this will save our customers over a billion dollars annually on their flights. These new flights will allow us to serve even more of America and make flying a truly affordable option," says Barry Biffle, president and CEO for Frontier Airlines.
