Nonstop flight from Austin to Mexico City lands an upgrade
Aeromexico's nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Mexico City is poised for an upgrade. On September 7, Mexico's leading airline announced that it will introduce a larger aircraft for the popular route, starting September 18.
This means more seats and more choices for Austin travelers, says a release from the City of Austin. The new Embraer EMB-190 aircraft includes 11 Premier Class (first class) seats, and 23 more seats total.
Aeromexico introduced the nonstop service in November 2016, offering flights four days per week. In March, the airline expanded the route to seven days a week.
The daily nonstop flight departs Austin at 1:57 pm and arrives in Mexico City at 4:20 pm. Service to Austin departs Mexico City at 10:20 am and arrives at ABIA at 12:42 pm.
Sample fares for October 2017 start as low as $170 each way for economy travel. Premier Class is priced around $750 each way. Passengers can purchase or upgrade their ticket to the new Premier Class option; additionally, AeroMexico Club Premier and Delta Sky Miles Elite users can use perks to upgrade.
