Southwest adds new nonstop flights from Austin — and brings back a few favorite destinations
There may be fewer layovers in your future. On Wednesday, Southwest Airlines announced new and returning daily nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Next summer, Southwest will add daily nonstop service from Austin to St. Louis, Missouri and Orange County, California. The new service is slated to begin on June 28, 2015.
In addition, Southwest will reinstate seasonal daily nonstop service from ABIA to Portland, Oregon and San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Service to Cabo begins June 7, 2015; service to Portland, Oregon begins June 28, 2015, according to a chart from Southwest Airlines.
These additional flights, notes the Austin American-Statesman, bring Southwest's total to 27 nonstop flights from Austin per day. You can now purchase flights from June 6 through August 7, 2015 on the Southwest website.
