Aimee Mackovic
Aimee Mackovic is a published author, published poet and yet-to-be producedscreenwriter whose case of waunderlust has lead her to New York, SouthernCalifornia, and now, happily, to Austin. She's moved over a dozen times andlived in seven states, so if you ask her where she's from, she'll pull out hercell phone and check her current location before answering. She earned a BA inTheatre from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC before moving to NewYork City to quote-unquote start living. She returned to school in 2003 andearned an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. Her chapbook ofpoetry, A Sentenced Woman, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2007. Shehas had poems appear in Main Street Rag, Barbaric Yawp, Red Lion Poetry Squareonline poetry podcast and Blood Lotus online literary journal, among others. Shecurrently teaches online with Keiser University. In her spare time, she playswith her nephew, works on writing poetry, plays with her three-legged dog,practices her guitar and Bikram yoga. You can usually find her buried in herlaptop in a local coffee shop.
