Blues on the Green Update
Massive Austin flooding forces KGSR to postpone Blues on the Green
Severe rainfall and flooding over Memorial Day weekend have forced KGSR to postpone the first show of the Blues on the Green series until Wednesday, June 3.
On Tuesday, the radio station announced that the conditions of Zilker Park will not allow for a concert this week. "Zilker was hit hard this weekend and it's just too muddy and wet," KGSR said.
The 25th season was scheduled to kick off at Zilker Park on Wednesday, May 27 with a special Antone's 40th anniversary show featuring Jimmie Vaughan and a surprise guest performer. Although the concert has been pushed back, all of the same artists will perform. Likewise, the postponement will not affect any of the remaining shows.
Fans will notice that there are less Blues on the Green shows this year than in the past. The number of concerts has been reduced in an effort to keep the series free — and to make sure that Zilker Park remains in tip-top shape.
The updated lineup is as follows:
June 3: The Official Antone's 40th Anniversary Celebration with host Jimmie Vaughan and a surprise special guest
June 24: Shakey Graves with Riders Against the Storm
July 22: Bob Schneider with Walker Lukens
August 5: Jamestown Revival and Max Frost
