KGSR announces star-studded Blues on the Green lineup for 2015
The lineup for one of Austin's favorite free music series has been revealed. On Monday morning KGSR released the artists headlining the 2015 season of Blues on the Green.
The 25th annual Blues on the Green kicks off at Zilker Park on May 27 with a celebratory Antone's 40th anniversary show hosted by the one and only Jimmie Vaughan. The special guest performer for this landmark evening will be revealed on the night of the show.
Blues on the Green will continue once a month throughout the summer with hometown heroes, including Bob Schneider and Shakey Graves.
Fans will notice that there are less Blues on the Green shows this year than in the past. The number of concerts has been reduced from six to four in an effort to keep the series free and keep Zilker Park in tip-top shape.
The 2015 KGSR Blues on the Green lineup is as follows:
May 27: The Official Antone's 40th Anniversary Celebration with host Jimmie Vaughan and surprise special guest
June 24: Shakey Graves with Riders Against the Storm
July 22: Bob Schneider with Walker Lukens
August 5: Jamestown Revival and Max Frost
Blues on the Green shows will start at 8 pm. Blankets, lawn chairs, dogs and children are all encouraged. Grab a drink or a snack at one of the many vendors, including Black's Barbecue, mmmpanadas, Southside Flying Pizza and Amy's Ice Cream.
