Austin is on fire with its latest opening. Tumble 22 Hot Chicken, a new food truck from acclaimed chef Harold Marmulstein, debuts downtown Tuesday, May 8.

Inspired by Nashville's famous hot fried chicken, Marmulstein and restaurateurs Larry Foles and Guy Villavaso (Salty Sow, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Red Ash Italia, and more) wanted to bring the heat to Austin. This is the second venture for the trio, who are also partners in Salty Sow.

Tumble 22's menu features all-natural chicken (sourced from Texas) that is seasoned with a secret blend of spices and paired with one of four hot sauces: Wimpy, Hot, Dang Hot, and Fire in the Hole. There are also milder options, like ranch and cilantro-mint, for those who can't handle the heat.

The chicken is served straight or on a sandwich. You can choose breast, thigh, boneless, or white and dark meat tips. Sides include kale cole slaw and chicken-fat fries.

Look for Tumble 22 at the intersection of Fifth and Walsh streets. Hours are Monday through Friday, 11 am to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 9 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm.
