It's the most wonderful time of the year, and that calls for a drink. We've rounded up the best Austin bars for the holidays — these spots do the season up right.

Donn's Depot
When you have a longing to revisit the good ol' days, just walk through the door at Donn's Depot. During the Christmas season this little dive bar dresses up in its finest attire. Grab a beer, some free popcorn, and enjoy the live tunes.

The Driskill
Enjoy a drink or two at the Driskill Bar and take in all of the amazing decorations. The downtown hotel goes all out for the holidays, from a sparkling Christmas tree to themed events. For the Driskill's 130th anniversary this year, the bar is offering two specialty cocktails that are perfect for sipping.

Geraldine's
Hotel Van Zandt is hosting the 12 Days of Christmas starting December 12. There are movie screenings, holiday music on vinyl, and visits from the man in red himself. And what shall you drink? The Oaxacan the Line with mezcal, pecan, and coffee was made for crisp winter nights.

House Wine
Inside a charming bungalow off Barton Springs Road you'll find a great collection of red, white, and sparkling wines. While we love the vino, during the winter House Wine's s'mores win big — you can roast your own marshmallows at the table. Just around the corner is Zilker Park, home to Austin's Trail of Lights.

Lala's Little Nugget
Santa doesn't live at the North Pole. He lives on Justin Lane at Lala's, a Crestview dive bar that serves up drinks and Christmas cheer all year. Kick back and relax with a Ziegenbock or a (surprisingly good) margarita, surrounded by vintage holiday decorations and classic tunes. Stubb's Bar-B-Q recently opened a new outpost next door, so you now have 'cue to pair with your brew.

Spider House Cafe and Ballroom
This caffeinated joint just north of the University of Texas campus has a courtyard that is always decorated with gothic statues, eclectic antiques, and hundreds of holiday lights. And, Spider House is a short walk from the lights on 37th Street, another quintessential Austin attraction.
