Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is having a record-breaking summer. A report from the City of Austin states that June 2014 was the busiest month ever at the airport, which saw passenger traffic increase more than 6 percent over June 2013.

This June, 968,545 passengers passed through the international airport — an all-time high. More than one-third of those passengers (366,695) traveled on Southwest Airlines. American Airlines came in second with 177,506 passengers; 157,712 passengers traveled on United Airlines.

The June 2014 passenger traffic marks the second time this year that ABIA has set an all-time record. The airport set a record in March 2014 with 942,825 passengers.

Passenger traffic for the first half of 2014 is up 5.5 percent over 2013. From January through June, more than five million passengers have passed through ABIA.
