Gemini Zodiac Party at The Far Out Lounge – Friday, May 23
Geminis, rejoice! There’s a party in honor of you happening at the Far Out Lounge this Friday, May 23. The lineup is topped by the 90s-inspired alt-rock act Stalefish, who have an anticipated EP titled New Pop Experiments: Vol. 1 coming in June, and it also features Love Varaints, Lucyspin, and others. Plus, you can expect tarot readings, flash tattoos, and more. Geminis can get in for $5, otherwise it’s a $10 ticket.
White Denim at the Mohawk – Saturday, May 24
Whether or not you’re attending the “whole enchilada” of Hot Luck, you should get yourself to the Mohawk this Saturday, May 24 to see the long-celebrated rock act White Denim. Support will be provided by Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Egg. Tickets for just the show are $37, but if you’re interested in Hot Luck itself, there’s still a variety of passes available for purchase.
Chief Cleopatra at Meanwhile – Sunday, May 25
If “free” is what you’re on the hunt for this holiday weekend, then look no further than Chief Cleopatra at Meanwhile Brewing on Sunday, May 25. The alt/soul/rock artist always puts on a vibe-heavy show, which should make for a groovy way to spend the evening – particularly one where you’re (hopefully) off work the next day.
Un Dia In May: Unity Through Music at Antone’s – Thursday, May 29
Head to Antone’s on Thursday, May 29, for Un Dia in May: Unity through Music, an event meant to celebrate the city’s “rich musical heritage and culture.” Over 20 artists, including Nakia, Blakchyl, Mama Duke, Cactus Lee, and others, will take the stage throughout the night. Tickets are $20.65.
French Film at Hotel Vegas – Friday, May 30
French Film will ring in the release of their debut EP, Yours, at Hotel Vegas on Friday, May 30. The indie rock band will be joined by a trio of noteworthy locals, including No Desire, Deep Cross, and Tilt. Cover for the show will be $12 at the door.
Indoor Creature at Empire Garage – Saturday, May 31
Living In Darkness is the name of Indoor Creature’s new album, and they’ll be celebrating its release at Empire Garage on Saturday, May 31. Two equally dancey bands — TC Superstar and Blush Fantasy — will open for the pop act. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of.
