What: Corporate Battle of the Bands
Where: ACL Live at the Moody Theater
The details: Last Friday, Austinites rocked out at the ninth annual Corporate Battle of the Bands benefiting Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. Bands from Austin's top companies performed in front of a panel of celebrity judges — Amy Simmons (Amy's Ice Creams), Mark Murray (KVUE), Kevin Curtin (The Austin Chronicle), and musician Joe King Carrasco — and a packed house at ACL Live to raise awareness and funds for HAAM.
"Corporate Battle of the Bands is one of our favorite events of the year — it gives us a chance to highlight those unsung heroes who avidly believe in HAAM's mission," said Reenie Collins, executive director of HAAM, in a statement.
Bands from Cirrus Logic, H-E-B, AthenaHealth, Intel, RetailMeNot, Seton Healthcare, and Wenzel Spine impressed, but Our Suns from Cirrus Logic walked away with the grand prize thanks to their progressive rock tunes and belly dancing.
