New Braunfels' rapidly transforming downtown will add another feather to its cap by the end of 2025. The group behind some of the city's most popular eateries is transforming the historic Old City Hall into Old City Hall Restaurant and Bar, a highly anticipated new restaurant offering elegant twists on classic American cuisine.
The project comes from Wiggins Hospitality Group, the local team behind popular spots like McAdoo's Seafood Company and La Cosecha Mexican Table. According to a press release, the group plans to bring its signature hospitality to a venue rich with history and local lore.
Located at 202 North Seguin Ave., the nearly century-old building has served many roles over the years, including as the New Braunfels Police Department headquarters, a World War II medic training site, a museum archive, and most recently, city hall itself. Now, it is getting a new purpose as a downtown dining destination.
On the menu: American and European classics with plenty of flair, including wood-grilled steaks, housemade pastas, and double-patty cheeseburgers. Behind the bar, guests can expect ice-cold martinis, negronis, frozen gin and tonics, and more.
"The Old City Hall project has been a labor of love for our team," says Wiggins Hospitality partner Turner Wiggins in the release. "We are honored to be the newest stewards of this incredible building, and we look forward to being able to share it with the New Braunfels community again soon."
The restaurant will blend the building's historic bones with modern touches by Dibello Architects. A 4,000-square-foot addition was built to house the bar, private dining room, and kitchen. And since this is New Braunfels, where patio season seems to last year-round, Old City Hall will feature an outdoor space overlooking downtown.
Old City Hall will be the third concept for Wiggins Hospitality Group, which officially launched earlier this year to bring the family's growing restaurant ventures under one umbrella. The group was formed to combine its decades of culinary experience with a shared vision for exceptional service across all its concepts.
