Just two days after announcing a trio of surprise shows at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, country superstar Kacey Musgraves announced a full North American Middle of Nowhere Tour stopping in Austin. Musgraves will perform at the Moody Center on October 7.
Update: Musgraves has also added a second Austin date on October 8. Tickets can be purchased via the various presales ahead of the general on-sale date of of Friday, May 8.
The Gruene show sold out "almost instantly" and moved quickly to inflated prices, reports the Houston-based newsroom Chron, so this may be a good second chance for Austinites to see the in-demand singer.
The tour kicks off on August 21, Musgraves' 38th birthday, in Chicago, Illinois. It moves through three Texas cities including Houston and Dallas before landing in Seattle, Washington, for a two-night finish on October 26 and 27.
Musgraves is known for a pop-country sound that ranges from strong western themes to country in drawl only, making her music accessible to listeners even if they don't consider themselves fans of the genre.
This tour is in support of Musgraves' new album, Middle of Nowhere, which comes out May 1. The Gruene shows will introduce the album May 3-5, with the full tour catching up months later.
Ticket sales start with an American Express card member presale Tuesday, May 5, at 10 am through Thursday, May 7, at 10 pm. Fans can register now Musgraves' website for a presale that starts Wednesday, May 6, at 10 am. The general onsale starts Friday, May 8.
