Candy-Colored Minimalism
Austin photographer's candy-colored works spark digital-art movement
Editor's note: CultureMap is proud to present the latest installment in our partnership with KLRU's documentary series Arts in Context. This unique series celebrates stories about the arts in Austin and the people who make this such a vibrant and creative city.
Matt Crump's candy-colored, minimalist style has sparked a digital-art movement. Inspiring social media followers around the world with his vibrant photography and short videos, Matt Crump has become one of Time's top 50 photographers on Instagram. Part of that unique vision comes from his obsessive compulsive disorder, and he transforms anxiety into controlled art, where even a "mess" is beautifully composed. With minimalist compositions, lively hues, and a great sense of humor, Matt's imagery from around the world has its his own energetic spin.
